After initial severe project delays, repeated panel downgrades, and a missed year-end installation deadline that cost thousands in lost tax credits, Solar Optimum agreed to settle the matter by issuing a $1,400 refund check. However, after pressuring me to remove my negative review in exchange for the credit—which I declined until payment was received—they reneged on the agreement despite documented internal notes confirming the refund would be sent. Given their bad-faith operations, I am seeking immediate fulfillment of their documented commitment to send the $1,400 check.

From the beginning to the end, the customer service was horrendous. Don't do it. I'm dumbfounded by the number of 4+ reviews when my experience was the total opposite. The communications and the commitments were the worst aspects of the project with this vendor. Read your contract in detail and hold them accountable within the contract terms for meeting deliverables. The process that they lead is agonizing and the antithesis of customer service. I'm just glad its over.

I had a great experience working with Solar Optimum, especially Mason Brown. Mason was incredibly responsive and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure everything moved forward smoothly. We ran into a couple of snags with permitting, and weather delays also pushed parts of the project back, but Mason handled it all exceptionally well. He consistently kept everyone informed, coordinated next steps, and made sure things were completed as efficiently and timely as possible despite the challenges. His communication, follow-through, and professionalism really stood out. Highly recommend working with Mason and the Solar Optimum team.

I’m giving this project 5 star review because I think it is the best company to go with for quality and a competitive cost. If you go with this company, 100% ask for Mason to be your sales rep. Avoid Eddie at all costs as he won’t respond to you after you sign your agreement…Because of this, Management actually switched my contact person to Mason, and I am forever grateful for that. Mason is attentive and he was the best with responding to questions and concerns. And when I had concerns about delays in my project, I would email him and it would be fixed right away. The solar industry is one where many people have a lot of questions, uncertainty in effectiveness, and aren’t sure if it’s right for them. And people in general don’t trust solar companies and sales people. It takes time to complete a solar project from contract to actually generating electricity for the home. For me, I decided to go with solar because the 30% tax credit was ending (and now that I actually see results, it’s worth it even without the tax credit). However, since I was in a tight window to get everything completed before December 31st, I was very nervous as to if the project would be done on time. if it wasn’t for my persistence, and for Mason’s help, I don’t think it would have been done Before December 31st and I would have been very upset and lost out on the tax credit. So again, GO WITH MASON at Solar Optimum, you won’t regret it. If I get another home, I will 100% use this company again, and would 100% ONLY work with Mason.
