good response times. very accommodating to specific requests. communication is great, but a little iffy with the local contractors (although i would assume that is more dependent on your specific location). overall extremely happy with our solar system!

We received 6 quotes through the energysage site and after discussing all our options with the energysage rep , we settled on Next Solar. They had the experience, were competitively priced, they completed several solar projects in our city so they understood our city's processes, and importantly they had all of the necessary equipment in stock to complete our project. Turns out we needed a new roof before starting our solar project and Next Solar recommended a company they had a good working relationship with. The roofing company was great and put in our roof right away. Rob our main contact at Next Solar, Mau the project coordinator, and Luis the lead field technician were always very professional, patient and understanding. They do not subcontract out the installation, so they always knew first hand the status of our project. The installation crew was very respectful to our family during that phase of the project. The project was completed on time, and this was during a time when they were very busy due to everybody rushing to get solar installed before the federal tax break sundowned in December 2025. There were no surprises, no issues, and we couldn't be happier with how everything went. We always had a lot of questions and they were very patient with us explaining everything and every step along the way. We passed the City inspection and PGE approved our system without incident. We are very happy with our solar project and would highly recommend Next Solar.

The good - The Next Solar sales rep was very helpful, attentive, and responsive during the evaluation period. Most voicemails were returned within a day or two. - The Next Solar team is generally responsive by email - They promised to complete the install in 45 days, it ultimately took 78 days to do initial install, and 110 days to finish the install (we signed the contract on 7/16, system was partially turned on 10/2, full battery install was finished 11/3). I have this in the “good” column because I know all of the installers were slammed with people scrambling to get solar before the federal incentives expire at the end of the calendar year. The bad - Only 3 of the 4 installed batteries worked after install because of 2 faulty micro-inverters. Next Solar insisted it was the manufacturer’s responsibility to replace the equipment, while the manufacturer (Enphase) insisted it was improperly installed. It took 4 weeks and many phone calls and emails battling with both Next Solar and Enphase to get the issue resolved. Gratefully, after considerable effort and negotiation, Next Solar agreed to give me a temporary refund on the battery cost until the installation was fixed. - The batteries were installed in a place that was different than what we agreed upon during the pre-installation inspection. They were already drilled into the wall by the time I went out there on the day of installation and noticed. I will acknowledge that the Next Solar team has said they can re-install them when we need them moved (for upcoming seismic reinforcement). - We recently moved into this house, and have probably had close to a dozen different contractors, technicians and/or other workers do installations (ADU, heat pump, 3-4 electrical projects, plumbing equipment, new appliances, etc.). Next Solar has been one of the most challenging to coordinate and communicate with during the permitting, installation, and post-installation periods. It isn’t clear who on the Next Solar team is responsible for what, and they avoid directly answering questions they consider to be inconvenient. Minor point, but they provided invoices only after being asked multiple times. Their primary mode of collection was showing up at my door and asking for checks (with no specific amount stated). - They didn’t provide any instruction or training after the installation. My wife asked the installer at the end of the day how to use the system, and he told her to “download the app”. After filing my review, the Next Solar team sent me some video links to satisfy this ask. The ugly - This is actually the second time I’m posting a review about Next Solar. After I first posted a review a couple of weeks ago, Next Solar spent a considerable amount of energy litigating and ultimately suppressed/removed the review (not sure how?), rather than actually addressing the problem of an incomplete battery install. - Included in their varied responses was “it’s a good thing you didn’t go with the other guys, they’re way worse” and “your negative review is killer for our business right now, can you please remove it?”.

Next Solar did an incredible job with our house! Rob & Luiz worked with me explain the process and the equipment and to customize the system to my needs. After that they quickly and effortlessly got the system up and running in under 45 days. Their installers did an amazing job with great cable management and they cleaned up after themselves and left the job site perfect. I can't recommend Next Solar enough, they're the vendor you want to go with.

TL;DR Rob will take excellent care of you! Rob was the agent that was my contact with Next, and working with home was refreshing. He presented his data with easygoing clarity, and made it very clear that he was interested in our benefit, more so than ‘snagging a sale’.
