Excellent communication and responsive team – project still in progress

Sunergy has been great to work with so far — strong communication, quick responses, and a professional team that really listens. Special shoutout to Armine (Project Manager) and Andrew (Lead Project Manager) — both have been extremely helpful, responsive, and proactive throughout the design, permitting, and planning phases. They’ve kept me updated, answered questions fast, and made the process smooth even with a tight NEM 2.0 deadline (amendment still in process). The system design looks solid (REC panels, IQ8X inverters, IQ Combiner 6C), permitting is already approved, and they’re now moving into operations/install scheduling. Project is still ongoing (installation and PTO pending), so I’ll update this review once everything is complete and the system is running. So far, very happy with the experience and looking forward to finishing strong. Highly recommend Sunergy for anyone in the Bay Area looking for an Enphase-focused installer. Thanks to the whole Sunergy team!

Normal Start, Poor Follow-Through

I signed a contract with Sunergy in late July through EnergySage. The project was delayed due to REC panel shortages. Installation and inspection were approved in early November; PTO was granted mid-December, and SDG&E installed the collar mid-January. After PTO, communication and response from Sunergy were very slow. They failed to properly configure the system to export and didn’t update the battery mode to allow grid import. Multiple calls, texts, and emails went unanswered for three weeks now. I contacted Enphase support directly and they were able to corrected the export issue, but the installer has yet to update the battery mode. While the project started normally, the lack of follow-through and responsiveness post-PTO has been extremely disappointing.

Very disappointed is the whole situation

I signed my solar contract in June 2025, and as of February 13, 2026, my project is still not complete. From the beginning, this process has been marked by poor communication, repeated delays, and avoidable errors. I also experienced frequent turnover in project management. Throughout the course of the project, I was assigned multiple different project managers, often without notice. This lack of continuity contributed to confusion, inconsistent information, and the need for me to repeatedly explain the same issues to new contacts. I specifically requested REC panels. Installation was scheduled for a Monday morning, but late Friday afternoon I was informed that REC panels were no longer available and that JA panels would be installed instead. I was told I could wait for REC panels; however, no timeline could be provided for when they might become available, and I was advised that waiting could potentially cause me to miss the solar tax credit. Given that uncertainty, I felt pressured to proceed with the JA panels. After researching independently and speaking with my EnergySage representative, I learned that JA panels are lower in cost and generally considered lower in quality. I requested a reduction in my contract price and was told it would be reviewed. At that point, communication stopped entirely. I called, texted, and emailed multiple times without receiving a response. Only after involving my EnergySage representative did I finally receive a call from the sales department. While my contract price was eventually reduced by $500, this resolution required unnecessary escalation and persistence on my part. The installation and inspection phase was equally frustrating. The city inspector had to visit my home three separate times before the system finally passed inspection. On December 13, an SCE technician came to my home and discovered backfeed on the system. He immediately shut the system down and warned me not to turn the breaker back on due to the risk of serious electrical shock. He also explained that the meter collar should be installed by SCE—not by the solar company—and noted concerns with the existing setup. After this visit, I again attempted to contact the company multiple times by phone, text, and email, with no response. Only after I threatened to escalate the matter further did I finally receive a reply. A subcontractor did not come to my home to correct the issue until January 6. At that time, the electrical problem was fixed, and the meter collar was removed and left off, covered with an orange safety bag, specifically so that SCE could properly install it. As of February 13, the meter collar has still not been installed. I was informed that this service can only be scheduled by Sunergy through SCE’s portal. Despite notifying them multiple times that the meter collar was clearly not installed, no scheduling request was made. Instead, I was told that SCE had already installed it, based on an email Sunergy received from SCE. This was clearly incorrect—the meter collar was visibly missing—yet I felt my concerns were dismissed and that I was not believed. Ultimately, I had to send a photo proving that the meter collar was not installed before the issue was acknowledged. Overall, what should have been a straightforward solar installation has turned into a months-long ordeal involving poor coordination, lack of accountability, frequent staff changes, and consistently inadequate communication. I have had to repeatedly follow up, escalate issues, and provide evidence simply to move the project forward. This experience has been extremely disappointing.

Krystal saved my experience

I was a little frustrated to begin, with the tax deadlines the company was overloaded with work and I felt like my project was moving slow. Then Krystal Herrera got involved and started excellent communication and progress. The equipment I have and the price was great, install was done professionally and they even corrected other issues with my existing solar ground rods. Now finishing up with Krystal has made it all around pleasant.

Too focused on sales, not a great experience

My first call with Sunergy went fine. Their quoted price was on the high side, but not crazy. The person I talked to trash-talked Tesla equipment, and made several claims about them. When I researched those claims online, they turned out to be incorrect rumors from years ago. That left a bad taste in my mouth, even though I didn't go with a Tesla system in the end. About a week after the initial call, I started getting frequent spam messages from Sunergy on Energy Sage. I call it spam, because it was nothing specific to my situation, just an attempt to get me to log in and see their quote again. None of the other companies I interacted with did this. I didn't go with Sunergy, so I don't have any experience with their technical quality, but I did not enjoy their sales process

Good product, professional installation

Like many customers, I wanted to take advantage of the 30% Federal Residential Clean Energy Credit before it expired at the end of 2025. Sunergy was doing its best to meet the large number of orders for solar systems, but it became clear that their resources were strained. Compounding that issue, Sunergy reported delays in receiving panels and micro-inverters from their suppliers, all which delayed the date of installation. Communications with some of the project managers was frustrating, but I eventually was assigned a knowledgable and responsive PM. I'll give them a pass on all of these issues, chalking it up as a one-time event, and instead focus on the end product. Despite the supply issues, I eventually received delivery of the REC solar panels and Enphase microinverters specified in the contract. The contract installers were courteous, worked efficiently, cleaned up the site at the end of the installation, and did a professional job. The city inspector granted a Permission-to-Operate without issues. I really like the Enphase monitoring app which is well designed and shows summary and real-time status of the system. I wish the process had gone more smoothly, but I am pleased with the system.
