Sol Power

So many of the OTHER solar companies have very inexperienced sales associates trying to explain rather complex technical and financial plans. Not with Sol Power. Their experience shines through! They provide the important details that allow you to compare with other proposals and clear strategies for navigating the government complexity. It probably helps that their proposals make the most sense financially. Highly recommend.

I started the process of investigating solar last fall and developed a spreadsheet of 5-10 solar company quotes. My initial experience was with national lease-only firms, eventually ending with local purchase-only offerings. I started out completely inexperienced and within 1-2 months, felt very comfortable with my choice of venue = SolPower. Like other reviews, the company is employee owned - the folks you meet up front are the ones installing your panels, running the electric, etc. To me, this was the decision driver for going with SolPower. The process was expertly led by their staff including state grant submission/approval, and the town & RI Energy approvals. Many of the quotes I received from other companies never mentioned a state grant which is a critical component as it is applied up front to the total cost of the system. I also enjoyed being cc'ed on emails to the other approving organizations - a great way to track progress. Early June my system was installed in 1 day and up and running with one tiny issue that was resolved lickity split. I highly recommend SolPower to anyone looking for quality, value, and a way to make a positive impact on our environment. Couldn't be more pleased! Alesia

First off, we felt comfortable with SolPower's entire team throughout the process: design/sales, installation, and paperwork. We were fortunate with excellent sun exposure that helped us maximize grants and put us well down the path to a carbon free household. We especially like our battery backup that will power our well, fridge/freezer, and most lights without the purchase and standby expenses of the generator we were considering if we didn't go solar. SolPower was responsive to our request to design our system to help us fully switch to solar electric power. It is working out great. We have always heated with wood but our new split-unit heat pump carried us through much of the past winter and spring, keeping our home 40F warmer than outside without even lighting the wood stove. We also added a new, much more efficient hot water heat pump unit to replace our old undersized and worn out electric hot water heater. Finally, there is enough hot water! We even switched our lawn mower (we have a large yard), and our chain saw to battery units powered from our roof solar. They are powerful but pleasantly quieter than the old gas ones. During our first 4 months of use, we have had no utility payments due and have enough energy credits built up now to power an electric vehicle 3000 miles. We are researching the EV purchase but SolPower has already installed the charger.

Excellent customer service from the introductory interview with Mr. Collins, through the timely construction process. We were informed each and every step of the solar installation process right up through the inverter installation. Everyone was very professional and took the time to listen to my wife and I concerning any questions we had throughout the entire process. We are very happy that we did our research and chose Sol Power.

Smooth and easy from start to finish. Eric was able to accommodate my requirement that our system be installed by the end of the year, which was rapidly approaching, and Kate did a last minute post office run to make sure we could claim all of our solar related credits in 2021.
