Botched Installation, Did not get proper Permit/Inspection

As of now, I have solar panels installed that are not active, and that need to be removed and reinstalled before the town will approve the installation. This will likely cause delays that will cause me to lose the solar tax credit, completely, as a result of Palmetto/PlugPV's incompetence. PlugPV /Palmetto failed to follow the steps in the building permit process. I was not even contacted by PlugPV/ Palmetto about this, but I had to contact the town inspector myself to find out about the situation. PlugPV /Palmetto was aware of the problem a week ago but failed to notify me.

Understand who is actually installing and maintaining your equipment

I signed with Palmetto because they seemed to have the best pricing vs reviews. I had to sign MANY contracts because they kept making changes/ forgetting things, etc. I also had to read each one very close because every time they sent a new contract, they somehow "accidentally" kept changing out panels to cheaper models and trying to change from the micro inverters I requested to a string inverter which I said I did not want. It seemed pretty sleazy the way they were trying to sneak things in and out of the contract hoping I wouldn't notice. I finally ended up with the system that I wanted which they subcontracted to ESD solar. It costed more than Palmetto originally quoted, but it was acceptable. At this point I was mainly dealing with ESD, but my Palmetto salesman wanted me to go thru him for communication. That was fine, except he was always behind where ESD was actually at in the process, just made things up I guess if he didn't know, and would just ignore me if I asked a question that he didn't want to answer. After several emails being ignored by Palmetto, I only dealt with ESD from that point on. The install was scheduled and went smoothly. I am happy with everything that was done on install day. I wish I would have known about ESD and gotten a quote from them directly from the start, I probably would have saved a little money without the middleman that did nothing.

My solar experience

Although my solar panels are not yet installed (in permit process), everything has been great so far including the quote (lowest to date), communication and support. I am please with my choice and cannot wait to start saving on my electric bills.

Haven't even gotten to the call yet

I had a call scheduled for this morning. Brett from your company is clearly incapable of reading or listening to his potential customers. I said I'm only interested in a ground mount. In the interest of this not getting too long, I made clear the shape of my roof will not allow enough panels to go up to make so much as a dent in my energy costs and the cost of the panels and labor would not offset the small savings on electric but would instead make it even costlier. Well, because Palmetto can't get to a ground array until next year, instead of politely accepting my request to cancel our call, he continued insisting roof panels were the way to go and going back and forth without listening. He then sent a follow up reminder about the call, which may possibly have been automated, but regardless, I asked to cancel and it wasn't honored. I'm not into aggressive sales tactics in a sad attempt to close any sale whether it's good for the customer or not, when I already know exactly what I need and want.
