My Apex solar rooftop system has performed for two years without outage or issues. The installation crew cheerfully installed the system in bitter cold winter weather. Sales and management were also pleasant to deal with. Apex provides a production guarantee of 85% of projected production for the the first year and 90% for the first two years combined. I requested but did not receive the first year review. After two years I requested the two year review and received a cheerful agreement to reimburse the shortfall for the entire 10 year guarantee period. A central dormer complicated the installation and results in part-day shading for most panels but I still reached 84% of projected production for the two years. The key component is the Solar Edge optimizer on the back of each panel; they prevent the entire system from being hobbled by the output of the lowest producing panel. After 6 years I needed to replace the roof and therefore remove and reinstall the arrays. I then learned that the grounding/bonding of the racking was not done with continuous conductors and that the downlink wire intended for use under the panels on the roof was also used in the conduit to the inverter which exceeded the conduit fill percentage.

I was initially worried that this would be a mess... my system stopped working and I was unable to get anywhere with the number on the equipment. I reached out to Apex directly and was responded to promptly by Phil. After triage he determined I needed a technician to come out. He sent me over to Mary Ellen who immediately set me up with an appointment. Seth the technician came and corrected the issue quick and easy. All were very professional and gave me a sigh of relief! Apex serviced our 48 panels when Monolith no longer existed. They were on time, easy to work with and kept us updated through the whole process. Highly recommend

It was estimated that I would receive 7-7.5 mWhs (7,000 kilowatt hours) per year, but the first year I received 8.56 mWhrs of electricity from my solar. I was able to get credit for all proposed incentives. At this rate, my "payback" is about 3 years! Then, I will be charging my car and heating my house just about for free. Apex was great to work with.

Nine years ago, Apex installed my 13-panel system. Annually, it generates a bit over or under, depending upon snow cover each winter and has never required service on either my Axitec panels or Envision microinverters. After high wind and rains, my "30 year" roof developed a leak at only 18 years. The leak was North Side, not panel side, so it was un-related to the panels. While I worried about coordinating panel removal and reinstall with urgent need to replace roof, Apex accommodated my needs for both removal (by one day prior to roof replacement) and a few days later for reinstall. Timing was perfect and gave roofer ability to adjust for weather which he had to do. The four Apex staff I met, over the two trips, were highly professional, efficient and answered all my questions. While this was an unforeseen expense, it was not attributable to the solar panels and the cost fell within the range typical for this essential service. Fortunately, the system went back into full service without a hitch. Any production loss was negligible in this crucial spring period when we begin net-filling our annual solar bank in order to limit our monthly National Grid electric bill to an $18 meter charge. I have owned two net zero energy homes that generate all energy needs from solar/wind power. The first home was built new 17 years ago and I sold it 18 months ago to buy a used home powered by propane. Apex Solar installed 47 solar panels on my roof, and I replaced propane heat/cooking/hot-water systems with all electric systems including AC using other contractors. The panels Apex Solar, NY, installed have been in use for 12 months and I have made enough energy to provide all the energy needs for my home + my two electric vehicles. Overall, I have saved more money using solar power versus paying for conventional energy sources.
