Used to be good? Now dishonest, disorganized, and awful

This company was pretty good in 2021 when they installed our system (27 panels, 9.7 kW). I would have had good things to say about them then. In 2024, we had to replace our roof and we hired Elevation to remove and replace the solar system before and after. I coordinated with them and the roofers to schedule the panels to be removed a few days before the roof job started and reinstalled a few days after. Elevation charged $250 per panel for this service. For 27 panels, this came out to $6750. All this scheduling was done in mid-September for removal in late October and reinstallation in early November. Elevation was unable to give us the dates we wanted, so we had to push the roofers back a week. In order to get Elevation to commit to these new dates, they asked for full payment up front. "To get on the schedule for both the removal and the replacement," the rep said. So I paid in full up front. The removal was on schedule and went without a hitch. On the scheduled day of re-installation, November 4, a single guy showed up. He went up on the roof for a few minutes and then came down and rang the doorbell. Despite my making it clear in my original phone call, the tech hadn't realized it was a fully reroof and so he hadn't brought all the necessary supplies. He'd have to come back. I called Elevation the next day to ask when they'd be back, and they were unable to give me a date. I was told I'd get a date the next day. Every day I called, and every day I was told the same thing: we can give you a date tomorrow. This went on for a week. Finally, a week after the scheduled installation date, I was given a date: December 20. That's a full 6-7 week after the scheduled installation. The contract I signed stated that the work would be done within 30 days. The reason I was given for the many days of delay in even getting a date was that "Jorge got sick." That's it, no more. But they said they were scrambling to enlist subcontractors to do all these scheduled jobs and that I was not the only person in this situation. I said that a 6-7 week delay was certainly unacceptable, and I escalated the case to a manager. I consider myself a pretty easygoing guy, but that's just absurd. After he was unable to offer anything more acceptable, I said I wanted a refund for the half of the payment that was for the reinstallation. He was willing to do that, but said he'd talk to scheduling overnight and see if he could get them to move some things around and get a date sooner. He also stated that having any other company install the panels would void my warranty with Elevation, which is exactly the opposite of what the Elevation customer service rep told me when I called preliminarily when I was researching roofers, to see if I could have another company do the removal and reinstallation. I was told, "no problem, that would not void your warranty." Luckily, I went with Elevation in the end, or else my warranty would be voided and with nothing in writing saying I was told otherwise. The next day, he called back and said he was able to get December 6 and 9 as reinstallation dates. He apologized for it being so far in the future, but it was the best he could do. I considered that there would be a delay with any other company I called, and that I did want to keep the warranty, so I agreed on December 6 and 9. On December 6, a crew arrived and worked a full day. On December 9, a smaller crew arrived and worked until the middle of the afternoon. Then the doorbell rang and the tech told me that they were done for the day, that the panels were not yet on the roof, and that Elevation would be in touch to schedule the rest of the job. When I told him that we'd waited for 6 weeks for this, that they'd worked two days already, and why the delay, he said, "Call them, I'm just the tech." So now it's December 10. I just called to find out when they can schedule the completion of the job, and again I'm told they can't give me a date, but in 24-48 hours they'll call me back to give me a date. The job was originally scheduled for November 4. It's now December 10, I've paid in full, and I have no idea when they'll be back to put the panels back on and energize the system. January? February? Who knows! I know that I've been losing about $100/week on electricity, between my excess generation credits and all the grid power I've been sucking down. But I'm not going to be compensated for that. I don't know who Jorge is, but he must have been running this company single-handed. The whole operation has absolutely fallen apart because he "got sick."

Answered all my questions

Breyner was able to locate the account via my address. he allowed me to prove this is my new home and transferred monitoring account to my name. All was simple and smooth
