It was awesome to have someone who is local, knows their stuff, has an awesome crew to take pride in their work to install my 15kw solar system. Scott is very responsive to any calls or messages that I sent to him throughout the process. He uses highest quality parts and does the job really quick. (now to wait for FPL to actually connect everything) If I had another home to install solar on, I would hire this company again. I will be contacting them again in the future to install battery backup once that is a more mature tech.
If you have not taken the time to read the 'About' section for Homes.Solar, please do. Every word is 100% accurate. Responsive, fair and trustworthy are other words that come to mind. Our system was installed at the end of December and did not go live until March 2021. The reality of it is, it took close to a month for the power company to grant us PTO. However Scott was diligent and committed to get us going. His install crew was on point and did a fantastic job in executing. I'd admit there were hiccups along the way, especially with a system this complex BUT the drive and commitment to push to the finish line was always present. AND resolutions always had our best interests in mind. If we were the slightest bit dissatisfied, we would have never referred Homes.Solar to neighbors and even family. If you're shopping around definitely give Homes.Solar a chance to educate and provide you with a system that fulfills your needs and wants.
UPDATE: I've now had my system running for a year and the system has performed very well! My Pika (now Generac PWRCell) battery system really impressed me after a storm earlier this year. A severe thunderstorm knocked out power to my neighborhood for several hours. Everything on my protected loads panel stayed up and running. I didn't install enough battery power for A/C, but I was able to keep ceiling fans, TV's, internet, security cameras, lights, refrigerator, and other small things going during the outage. No hurricanes this year, but definitely felt prepared for it! I've seen my 9.3kW system putting out over 9kW so I know that it's really pushing it's efficiency. I've had a lot of pushy solar sales people coming to my home and even some of those on EnergySage are relentless, but Scott was very laid back and did not try to pressure me into a sale which made me feel good about him. He made the whole process easy and was easy to get in contact with when I had questions. There were a couple of hiccups after installation, but he was on top of it right away and quick to resolve the problem without me having to follow up after I initially let him know. I have already recommended Homes.Solar to others and will be using them again if I make any system expansions.
We had worked through Energy Sage to get estimates on our system. Scott with Homes.Solar was one of the original respondents. Our request was a bit non-standard. I wanted a ground mounted system (400 plus feet from our home) with a full home battery backup. While Scott wasn't initially highly familiar with battery systems (and prior to our actually selecting Homes.Solar), he went out of his way to do his homework, taking training with Pika Energy and keeping in touch throughout. During this time, I continued to interview multiple companies and had multiple site visits, etc. I also developed my own contact with an engineer at Pika Energy, so that I could double-check the information I was getting from the various solar companies. Scott and his crew were very personable and made me feel comfortable and confident in choosing them for our job. They took the time to listen to my actual requirements and incorporated everything into their estimate. It was also very comforting that the information they provided matched what I was hearing from Pika, which wasn't the case with all of the companies we interviewed. While the project wasn't completely without hiccups, mostly involving engineering and permitting delays, Scott and company always worked hard to get the issues resolved in a timely manner. Scott was highly responsive throughout the project and is still there today, more than a year later, if and when I have any questions. With Pika Energy having since been purchased by Generac, Scott has taken additional training and has kept me updated on future enhancements planned for the battery systems. I am hopeful that I will be able to take advantage of some of those new features down the road, but, regardless of that, I am thrilled to have a system in place to keep us powered in the event of power outages (relatively frequent in our area) while also significantly reducing our energy bill with our ongoing solar production.
Had a great experience working with Scott to complete my solar project. I recommend Home.Solar to anyone looking to install solar. Scott is very reactive to requests and follows through on service.
I request a solar project through a website called Energysage.com November 1, 2019 I started my solar journey. Scott sent me a quote the same day estimating my project cost. I had many different installer email me this day but Scott's stood out to me. I still entertain all the other quote just to see what everyone spoke about and explained the system and listened to my needs and wants. Scotts response was the most genuine and I knew I wanted to do business with him. Scott schedule an in person visit to my home November 3rd, 2019. He showed me a areial view of what my home would look like with the solar panels i needed and break down of the products I would be getting. I told Scott I was looking for a 100% solar system with a battery backup in those events of power outages or hurricane situations. My system is 22.9kwh system with 74 panels. I wanted a power bill that I was only paying a solar loan payment and the customer service charge with the electric company as in Florida you cannot be 100% off grid. UNCLE SAM & BIG Power have to have their hands in our pockets... I had to do my own research into solar as well as being a first time purchaser of this type of system. I recommend YouTube and EnergySage.com. I was looking for a no money down option. Scott had all the resources with him I didn't have to go anywhere else to look for funding. We agreed on terms and processed the paperwork same day. Scott processed the equipment ordering, permits, paperwork and meter swap application with Duke. My system had a completion time of November 25th, 2019. The equipment arrived at my home on November 21st, 2019 prior to install and the contractors started install on the November 22nd, 2019 and continued until 24th. Scott contractors were very efficient and knew exactly what they were doing. My system was a very unique system and complex install as the homes wiring is set up alittle different than most homes that Scott has dealt with. So from the time my system was installed to setup up 100% operations 4 months passed. Within this time frame we had Christmas and New Years holiday and inspections by the county and energy company to deal with. It was a unfortunate time frame as I was paying a solar loan payment and my normal electric bill. Luckly all that came to end and we got 100% approved by Duke Energy (Pain in the rear) Feb 28th, 2020 and Meter finally replaced on March 9th, 2020. As today's date of this review July 4th, 2020. I have not had any issues with the solar, leaks or trouble shooting. My Duke Energy bill is just my customer charge less than 15 dollars. My solar payment is my electric bill. Stuff about my home to understand my consumption because we have a big family. 2800 sq ft living space 4 refrigerators (we eat and have a big family) Tesla Car Charging 10k plus gallon pool and heated. 4 Adults and 3 Children (all under 10) living in the home. Lastly I recommend Scott for your Solar needs and I trust his work. He is very genuine and I have also recommend him to many co-worker which one has also used Scott to complete an install. I wouldn't just recommend anybody with being sure my name would t be tainted. Call Scott and have him go over options- highly recommend it. Mention my review and Bryan Sent ya
