I purchased an 18-panel 10,767 kWh solar system with three 15 kWh Enphase batteries from Atma Energy in 2024 for under $35K, and added a fourth 15kWh battery in 2025, for a total investment of just under $42K. That fourth battery allows for full night A/C operation in the summer without dipping into the grid, and recharge to 100% battery status before the next night. I expected approximately an 18-year payback schedule. To my delight, my total electric bills have plummeted from $1966 in 2023 to $363 in 2025, cutting my estimated payback schedule to about 11 years. Not only that, but my 10,767 kWh system actually delivered 10,976 kWh last year. I am thrilled with my Atma Energy solar system, with the monthly savings, give-backs to the grid, and the peace-of-mind it provides me.

No service calls or anything needed. The team was prompt to plan and install the system.

Initial Selection & Sales I began the solar process sooner than planned (July, not 2026) due to tax credit changes. I used EnergySage to compare installers and confirm pricing was within the expected range. I selected Atma Energy Inc. due to positive reviews and the responsiveness of their sales team. Sales representative Cameron ensured the system could be built as desired before the end of the year, and we agreed on a fair price for a combined solar and battery system. Permitting & Installation The project was smoothly handed off to Rodrigo after the contract was signed. Atma was highly responsive, promptly filing and obtaining quick approval for all necessary permits in Houston. The installation was estimated for two days but was completed in one long day, which was convenient since I work from home. Final Steps & Power-Up Post-installation, there was a four-week delay before the system was powered up, which required a follow-up visit for necessary work, as they were unable to test it initially. Atma handled all final paperwork, leading to sign-off from the City of Houston and approval for usage from CenterPoint. The system is now fully operating. Equipment & Conclusion They offered both Enphase and Tesla systems. The Enphase option was more expensive and projected to generate less power than the Tesla system. I chose the Tesla system with a hybrid string inverter, as I had always wanted Tesla. Their electricians were knowledgeable about the Tesla Powerwall. Overall, the project was successful despite a few minor bumps. I would recommend Atma and would use them again if their pricing remains competitive.

Cameron at ATMA gave fast responses and flexible options that showed they were actively involved and have good resources to pull from. We did not follow through with an install d/t short term considerations that a long term commitment could not make for a feasible venture.

Atma has high approval for a reason. We could not go forward with solar because it would require cutting too many of our trees (a few we could do but not as many as needed ). But engineers could see the issue, we were immediately notified. They were honest in their assessment and notified us immediately.

Even though I ended up deciding to hold off on solar, Christopher was always available for the questions I had & worked up different proposals. He was NEVER pushy & sent out email nudges at appropriate times. I never felt like he was bothering me! If I end up going with solar in the near future, I will DEFINITELY be contacting Atma.
