Greg, Evan, Cliff and the team put in quite a bit of work to coordinate a carefully considered solar setup, some home electrical work to get up to code, and a roof install. Having a solar and roofing company under one roof made communication and planning much easier for both projects. I appreciated that everybody was highly responsive with questions and document requests and helped get us set up for net metering, by dealing with the power company and the county.

Just wrapped up our solar install and we couldn’t be happier. Well, maybe if it wasn’t so cloudy and raining. But that will pass. I learned a lot in the process that I started back in March. The first company I contacted wanted to sell me a PPA system with no money down. They sent me the paperwork, and I took the time to read it. The more I read, the more I thought, “This isn’t a good deal!” It was no money down, but you don’t really own anything. They own the equipment and you are stuck paying them and the power company (net metering)! And what you pay them goes up a set percentage every year, for 25 years! I told them I wasn’t interested in such a plan and they came up with another proposal which looked more like they were trying to sell me as many panels as they could, even if they were only getting partial sun. I reached out to Coldstream Solar to see what they could do. Luke prepared an analysis with LIDAR maps and animations that tracked the sunlight our roof would get throughout the year so I could see just where it made the most sense to install the panels and how many panels would provide the best return on investment. Luke made the whole process simple and stress free. I had a few technical questions, and he mostly knew the answer or was able to talk to his engineer and get an answer quickly. The other company was also calling me from Utah or Florida based on caller ID area codes. Coldstream is local to Southwest Ohio and that was a big plus for me. It was a bit of a challenge getting all the wiring and connection on the limited wall space outside by the meter, but they figured it out. Coldstream took care of getting all the permits and inspections. They also upgraded my house service panel to 200 Amp service. I had checked a year ago with a different company to do that and Coldstream was actually $1.5k less. It was originally scheduled to be installed last Thursday, but they had a customer whose site had an emergency technical problem that they had to fix, so they rescheduled for this Monday. While I was a bit annoyed about the delay, it did tell that they didn’t just install the system and go away. If there are any problems, I feel confident they will take care of me as well. We had 20+ solar panels installed by Coldstream earlier this month and are greatly pleased with the result. Luke, Evan and the rest of the team at Coldstream Solar did a great job on our install. Knowledgable, efficient, low key and competitive on cost. Easy to work with and thorough. Got through the planning, permitting and install towards the end of 2025, even with all the pressure from the surprise expiration of the solar tax credit. Install was professionally done and is working great.

20 REC 450 Watt Panels (9K system) installed in Dec 2025 Working with ColdStream to get my Solar project planned, permitted, installed and online was a very professional experience. Greg, Evan and the entire team kept me in the loop on all steps from HOA approval to County Approval to Interconnect and Net Metering with AES. We had a few items outside of anyone’s controls (Panels I wanted were caught up in Supply side issues). The ColdStream team came up with work arounds so we could hit the end of December Operational timeline to ensure I received the tax incentives before they expired. System was installed and online by the 10th and AES and the County gave final approvals by the 15th. The ColdStream Team had to deal with a lot of questions from me (I am an Engineer and Electrician) and they were patience and provided knowledgeable and full answers to all questions. This was one of the best home update projects in years and that is all to the team from ColdStream. I could not have asked for a better outcome. Luke met with us twice to thoroughly go over the benefits of solar and how the whole process would go. Very professional, no rush, no pressure presentation.
