Northeast Solar

We were pleased with how professional, friendly, and thorough the team at Northeast Solar was during the entire installation process--from starting it with Andrew to our solar array "going live" in the middle of the winter. The fact that the installation crew was able to complete their work in a short span of time, and during January in the Berkshires, was fantastic. Currently, during the dog days of summer, we are very pleased with how much solar power our array of panels is generating. We would strongly recommend Northeast Solar to anyone considering a solar installation.

Following my inquiry, a representative arrived promptly, got up on the roof and measured it. I received a plan within a couple of days. Based on our usage records, the grid was designed to provide full, or nearly full, coverage. Installation took place within 3 months of our agreement. Rooftop installers were professional, personable, and worked diligently under difficult circumstances (heat wave). The interior work was done neatly and all went smoothly in spite of the challenges our little house presented. Approval from Eversource even arrived more quickly than we expected. Along with the microinverters, we got access to an app that allows us to monitor performance to the individual panel level. After 9 months the trend indicates that electrical production will exceed consumption. Considering the sale of SRECs (Solar Renewable Energy Certificates) it appears we will make a little money.

Northeast solar was among the best value in the 6 quotes I received. I picked them because they were a local installer and because their sales staff was not pushy. They are in the business to install and service PV systems, not to finance the system, lease it, or get kickbacks like other solar companies out there. I appreciate that the owners don't believe in leased systems since these generally never benefit the customer. They do offer referrals for financing opportunities but said its up to you as the customer on how to pay. Their price does not change if you finance through one of their referred vendors or your own bank. Their crews were very professional and performed quality work that should last. Their electricians work to minimize any conduit runs on the outside of the house preferring to run it inside as to improve the exterior aesthetics. Their office staff was great as well, answering emails timely providing the most up to date information. I would not hesitate to use them again if we need to expand the system or add anything else.

Tom Kelley provided excellent service as he walked me through the changes I had to make on my cell phone to reconnect to Enphase to record our solar use. He was extremely patient and knowledgeable.

I participated in the Belchertown Solar Project to offset some of my power consumption. I received straight answers from Northeast Solar, better pricing, superior workmanship and excellent support. I am very happy with my system and feel that my system benefits me and the environment.

We had Northeast Solar install our system almost five years ago. We have a standing seam metal roof which NE Solar was experienced with. With this kind of roof you cannot drill holes into it, everything gets attached to the seams with specialized clamps. They did a wonderful job, very professional and so far our system (which uses Enphase inverters on each panel) has performed very well. Back then the cost of solar was more. Panels and components were more expensive but we sized the install for the optimized side of our roof based on solar exposure. Everything was done cleanly, on time, and their experience getting us through the grid connection process made it effortless.
