Great Sky Solar

I had Great Sky Solar install fifteen 400 watt Qcell solar panels three years ago. They have worked flawlessly since that time. I also had them return to install the squirrel cages around the panels when I discovered that squirrels were building their winter nest under the panels. No more squirrel problems since then. The solar power app on my phone is really helpful and for a nerd like me and I still have fun with it. Great Sky was recommended to me by a neighbor and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone who is interested in solar panels.

I installed solar at my Newton home about 2 years ago. I talked with a number of other vendors and found most of them very sales-y and not particularly knowledgable about or believers in renewable energy. I was really impressed after my first contact with Great Sky. I never felt like I was being "pitched," but rather having a conversation about how/if solar would work for my home. While Great Sky's price was at the high end of the range, it was a no-brainer for me to choose them. I liked that they were local, had a regular team instead of using contractors like many of the others, and really seemed to know what they were doing. They answered all of my questions (even ones about their economics) and never pressured me to sign up. I checked several references which were all glowing. They made the actual process really easy - taking care of all the permitting, interactions with Eversource, and anything else that had to be done. The crew was on-time, seemed to know what they were doing, and incredibly neat. The project manager (Caleb, I believe) kept me well informed along the way. While the tax credit I received was really nice, I would do solar again even without it not just because I believe it's the right thing to do, but also because it saves a ton of money each year. And, every once in a while I get a check for $75 or $100 due to excess power! I have recommended Great Sky to anyone who asks (and even a few who don't!).

Great Sky installed our small residential system almost 4 years ago. It continues to work well and we have not paid an electric bill in that time. The staff was friendly and responsive and the installation went smoothly. Very happy with our experience.

Great Sky Solar did a fantastic job installing solar and a PowerWall at our home. We have a tricky situation with a peaky Victorian roof and skylights, which they deftly designed around. Installation was quick (less than a week), and everyone was professional and courteous. I appreciate that Great Sky was conservative in estimating the % of electricity demand that would be met by solar; our actual generation has exceeded their forecasts. I have recommended Great Sky to a couple of other friends who also used them and had similarly good experiences. I recommend them without hesitation.

I'm a two time customer of Great Sky Solar (in 2019 and 2025) and would highly recommend them. In both houses the solar installation meant I had zero cost for electricity (with the exception of charging our cars). Service and communication was exemplary. Special shout out to Rebecca Craddock and her team on our second installation for helping things go smoothly.
