Round one: They came ringing my doorbell multiple times at about 6:45am.
After they finished and left my property, I realized the EV charger was not installed. I noticed a mess on my garage floor from installing the invertor. As I walked around my house to see the solar panels, I saw garbage, tools, and hardware on the ground. I looked in my pool and saw garbage and hardware at the bottom of my pool. I realized they didn’t apply the correct layout to the panels on my roof.
Round two: They come back to fix the mistakes they made minus all the cleaning up my wife and I did. They fixed the inverter issue, but still left drywall shavings on the ground, fixed the layout of the solar panels, but STILL did it wrong and illegally placed the panels too close to the edge of the roof, STILL left the same tools on my property and didn’t clean up.
Round three: They still haven’t painted the conduit. They still didn’t fix the broken roof tiles. The layout is still not exact to the planned layout.
Round four: They sent a roofer to my house and that roofer accomplished nothing at all. Every single broken tile I had before, I still have. And that roofer is gone and haven’t heard from them since.
Round five: I had to contact universal solar direct again about nothing being done to the roof. The roofers came and fixed the broken tiles and left. Then, once I got back home and inspected, there are still broken tiles and pieces of broken tile on my roof.
Round six: Roofers never showed, twice.
Round seven: Roofer showed up, but nothing can be done because the damaged tiles are underneath the panels. Also, after speaking to the roofer, this has been a constant issue with them on many the houses they do.
Round eight: The roofer and installers came today and fixed some of the tiles under the panels, but not all. Once I got notice from the energy company that I’m good to turn the solar panels on; I went to charge my car and I noticed the screws holding the EV charger bracket weren’t even screwed in all the way and the ones that are screwed in are not actually secured in the drywall.
Round nine: The manager was able to do whatever to give me access in the inverter app to utilize my EV charger. He also came to my place to replace the previous transmitter on the inverter with a different model.
Round ten: A got a call from a guy who was supposed to paint my conduit to match the side of my house on a Monday. He said he would get to the project and finish within 72 hours.
That never happened. And then the Monday following I got the same story.
Round eleven: The roofer and installers came back to lift up every panel and check for broken roof tiles that they failed to fix the first time. And to rearrange the tiles to the originally proposed layout that they failed to do correctly the first two times.
They pulled and replaced the DOZENS of broken tiles. They rearranged solar panels correctly.
Round 12: They secured the EV charger bracket, BUT, the bracket was scratched, the paint was chipped on the wall, it looks like they started drilling a new hole and then changed their mind, and on they didn’t clean up the shavings from the drilled holes, again. I also noticed they used unmatched tiles on my roof as replacements. All the other tiles they used previously matching, why not now?
Round thirteen: They came and fixed the breaker box issue that they sealed shut with stucco the first time they came.
Round fourteen: They had their roofer come today and change out ONLY the visible mismatched tiles. Unfortunately, they didn’t switch out the mismatched times under the solar panels, which is unacceptable. So, whenever these solar panel come off in the future, for whatever reason, I’ll have to be responsible to my HOA for replacement of the mismatched tiles. That’s unacceptable. AND after contacting the manager of Universal Solar Direct, he refused to change out and match the tiles under the solar panels.
