Solar Advantage

I got my panels installed with Solar advantage. I have been having problems with my system for past 4 months. Inspite of calling them repeatedly, i have not heard back from them . I am here to get direction and support from the Energy Sage community, cause they recommended Solar Advantage to me

I should have read the review more carefully before deciding on using Solar Advantage. First, they were not careful enough to learn about our local utility company's requirements and they have to redo many works, resulting a few months of no production after installation. The rep verbally agreed on compensating the loss but disappeared. Next, the actually solar production is way below the estimate they designed (getting ~5MWh vs the estimated 12Mwh). The system has been installed over a year now and the saving is not enough to justify the investment. I'm extremely disappointed with my whole experience. I would not recommend them to anyone.

The highlight of the system is it appears I’m on track to make sufficient power to cover all use in December. I did request a couple extra panels on top of recommendation to make sure the energy needs were met. The overall process took a little longer than anticipated 2.5 months from contract signing due to some miscommunications between Solar Advantage, their supplier, permitting with the city and Duke energy requiring the crew to come out multiple times to get everything installed and squared away but it is running beautifully now. The installation only required two individuals to complete. Best piece of advice as an individual is to stay on top of the process with everyone involved. Not a knock against Solar Advantaged but I think the loan vs outright payment is a bit of a scam as the loan causes the system cost to increase significantly but with a low interest rate you’re paying less per month than you would for power but with a longer timeframe to recoup investment. Solar Advantage had the best price for the highest quality LG panels and I would recommend them again.

This company does not service what they sell. They literally will not answer the phone if you are calling for service. I have called them a dozen times with no return call. Keep looking for another company.

Updating my review. Our solar system has been in place for over a year and a half now and it is completely shut down. Repeated calls and emails have gotten no response. Now I have to pay more money to have someone come out and look at our system and repair it. I'm not a happy customer.

They were a little further from my home than I was comfortable with, but not their fault
