While I decided not to pursue solar at this time, 8M solar was one of three companies out of seven bids I received on Energy Sage, that I strongly considered. Their pricing was competitive and they gave me several solar options to choose from. Their sales person was responsive to my questions. In short, given HOA restrictions that limit solar to the rear of my home, the trees on that side of the house, and below average electric rates from my electric cooperative, I am not an ideal candidate for solar at this time. For anyone considering solar, make sure you understand your utility pricing and your electric usage patterns. The biggest risk I saw to going solar was not generating the forecasted energy bill savings without having a battery system and a battery system made the economics not very appealing. That said 8M solar did not appear to over promise the potential savings. For this I am very appreciative. Perhaps its because they are local to NC and have installed systems for others with my electric cooperative.

8MSolar was a 5 star pick for our solar installation. 1) Friendly and genuine, 2) they answered all of my questions, no matter how redundant or obvious, 3) they worked with me to design a system that was specific to our needs - not too much, not too little, 4) they walk through each step of the process with clear instructions on what to expect, what to fill out, when they were coming and how to prepare for the permits, inspections and more ,5) they handled all the paperwork work, forms, inspections, permits and etc. If there were any that I needed to submit, they provided the form and instructions on what to do, 6) install was quick and well done - and in 1 day, and 7) they followed up to make sure everything was to our expectation, tested and that we knew how to operating/monitor it. While they do not finance themselves, the credit union they work with was just as easy, reasonable rates and options to adjust 3x and no penalties to pay off early.

I had a system installed 15 months ago by 8m solar. On Friday, January 10 around 6 pm after office hours, I noticed I had an issue and had no production from solar panels after noon of that day and I contacted 8m solar via a phone call message. By Monday morning, I received an email from 8m saying they had contacted Tesla about the issue. On Tuesday, they reached out to me to say it would be necessary to have a site visit to troubleshoot the problem and I said ok. Shortly thereafter, they contacted me and had an appointment scheduled for Thursday and a crew showed up to troubleshoot the system. By around mid day, I had one of 2 strings of solar producing and was told 8m would get back to me about the system. Today, less than a week after I let 8m know I had an issue, I was informed what they will need to do to get the other string operating and they are not being evasive about fixing the system. This company backs up their work and addresses issues quickly. This problem resulted from an issue with wire, not anything related to installation or components. If an electrician installs a ceiling light, he reasonably expects the coil of wire he uses will be reliable. I was worried a bit about service after install and payment with solar. 8M proved to me that I made the right choice. From problem existence to remediation, one phone call and less than one week
