Beyond expectations

The Enphase Team provided a quick, direct and professional experience when I found my installer was closed down and non responsive. My system required a replacement and reprogramming to operate correctly. The Enphase Team patiently walked me through the process and replaced defective materials at no cost to me. Good Job Enphase. When I expand and install added components, Enphase will be my go to. WS Daw

A good retirement investment, but pricy unless a cash purchase.

I will tell you honestly my Enphase system is pretty solid, but has had some issues. I purchased my system consisting of 24-375 watt panels w/IQ7+ inverters & 30KWH of storage (3-encharge 10's) at end of the year of 2020, w/PTO in the spring of 2021. I have well over 70K in my system. Now, was it worth that much money? NO! It certainly wasn't really, but at that time the loan interest rates were much lower so it was better than it is now. The reality is if you can afford to pay cash for your system without the involvement of any loan it's a great investment. Fortunately my system is completely paid for now so it is paying me back every single month with the energy it produces, but I should have had a maxed out Tier 1 system (10K AC) generating the max allowed before hitting tier 2 with my consumption where it is. Also it does benefit me immensely in retirement savings, but it will take many years to reach the point of profit over investment. My LG panels are no longer made & realized after the fact that I wish I had REC Alpha panels & over 400 watt panels as those are the best at drawing power in lower sunlight situations. Of course AFTER I purchase my system they now have the IQ8 inverters which are even more energy efficient than my 7+ inverters, & will provide power to home in an outage, but too late now for that potential benefit. I am stuck with what I have. The idiot that installed my system has my electric panel all fouled up & even with my system set for home backup my power goes out for most of the home dumping to the sub panel. This really pi$$es me off as with all the battery I have this should NOT happen, but he abandoned me completely after install which is another horrible issue when shopping for & buying solar as there are far too many crooks in the business. He wired up the outside AC unit to the sub panel, but not the inside unit so I also have to ensure the AC is off if the power goes out so not to waste energy. Total screw up for an electrician! My power company totally shafts me out of true net metering & I only get 1/3rd credit for power I send back to them, so my batteries were a must to keep all I have for my own use. I was smart & bought my system at the same time I got a new roof. My new (2020) roof is metal, white in color so it attracts ZERO heat & a temperature probe in the very top of my attic proved it to never be more than 10 degrees hotter in the attic than ambient outside temperature. This is nothing short of incredible as it keeps the attic so much cooler. Also with the metal there are NO holes drilled through my roof so no worries whatsoever of leaks. I have the Iron Ridge system & my panels are clipped to the verticals of my metal roof, which also is a screwless roof w/latched over style. Software issues do happen sometimes. I just had to call tech support to calibrate my system as I discovered my batteries were at 100% + back feeding to power company when they were showing only 80% full. This I found is something needed to be watched out for as only tech support can fix this when it happens. My combiner 3 motherboard died out completely at about 1 1/2 years after PTO but the worst part was it was during the covid time frame so it took 5 weeks for them to send me a replacement. Since I don't have any installer any longer I installed it myself very easily, but it was hard to get the batteries back online after install. Panels done well, but me & a guy named Steve in Idaho for tech support both worked on the batteries for about 4 hours to get all 9 of them back online. One of them appeared to go completely dead over all that time waiting for the replacement board so it was extremely hard to get it back up & running. God bless this man for all his help that day. I won't forget it.

Excellent service

Had overheated connection from the panel to iq8plus. Since the start of the troubleshooting to the activation of the replacement had full support and help. Sure was nervous- it’s the first time in 4 years. But the people and plentiful information on every step made the process easy and straightforward.

Customer Service Praise to Enphase

I've had our solar system go down following an electrical issue at our home. Enphase reporting kept me in touch with the status of our solar system . When we couldn't find the answers with the Enphase Portal. We were able to EASILY get in touch with the Enphase customer service team that guided us to work with the appropriate technical team to address the issue and to get us back in production. When reported production levels were not meeting the mark, it was extremely comforting that we could reach someone to assist with helping us identify why the production levels were not being met. I would like to acknowledge the good customer service that we have experienced with Enphase.

If you can afford it, an excellent option

I believe that my system costs me a bit more per month than just buying electricity from the local utility. I took out loans, and pay about $200 a month. My electric bills usually did not come to quite that amount, although many months it came close. I also do pay electric bills in addition, but some months I get a credit, and my bill has never been over $50. What I am buying for that is panels with an Enphase battery system that operates seamlessly in case of grid outage. It doesn't happen often, and doesn't last long, but it saves the aggravation of having to shut down my computer or having it turned off without warning. Moreover, it is a good guarantee against long term grid outage and increase in energy prices. Already our company wants a 14% increase. Enphase has been completely reliable, and since you should use your batteries daily to keep them healthy, their customer service will work with you to determine the best hours to minimize your bill against peak charges, and set up the system for you. The monthly report of energy use and sources is very helpful. And by using solar, you help save our resources for the future. Do it if you can!

Great customer service

I recently changed my internet provider and needed to call Enphase to get assistance with changing my wifi so my solar data would upload to my Enphase account. The technician I spoke with was patient and very knowledgeable. We encountered some difficulty in picking up the new wifi but the technician had a workaround that solved the problem. I am very happy with the customer service that Enphase provides.
