Covenant Solar Tech

These folks have about $14,000 of our money. We have learned they have gone bankrupt. We have attempted to reach someone to learn status but have not been able to speak to anyone other than a receptionist type person. Our attempts to reach someone with knowledge has included emails, phone calls and personal visits to their office. My suggestion is to stay away.

A year ago, we signed with Covenant Solar based on their slick sales pitch. Just 3 months in, we were already not seeing the "savings" we expected. Convenant said that the ROI needed a good year to manifest based on seasonal production and usage fluctuations. This month we are now a year with their system, and we are paying $150 MORE PER MONTH in utility expenses than we were before solar! Every time I talk to Convenant (which is difficult now, sine they already have my money), they "confirm" that our system is producing as designed. That may be true, but the amount they charged for the system, we've since learned, is outrageous! I highly recommend that you stay FAR AWAY from Covenant Solar. I get it that this review could be written by a competitor, so don't take my word for it. Shop around. And choose any company OTHER than Covenant.

Started with Louis, the sale Rep. very respectful and explained. The installation was very professional and Dustin Holloman and Billy and the rest of the crew did a fantastic job. They are nice and professional and will give you their honest opinion.

Sun Dollar is a fantastic local company. I worked closely with Greg Resch, who guided me though the process of installing a solar panel system on the roof of my residence in Carrboro. Greg knows his stuff, and I was impressed by the competence of the entire team. The install process was quick - 2 days - and my wife and I feel that the installation is performing really well. Greg helped us to handle technical issues that arose after the install, related to WiFi monitoring. Sun Dollar is a company that continues to work with you after installation. Greg and Dan also helped us to deal with the Duke Energy rebate situation, where Duke's website/server was overloaded on the application day. Thanks to Sun Dollar's persistence, I will be receiving the rebate. I love this company - they are local, hardworking, and smart.

Sun Dollar has great folks who were willing to work with us. I'm really happy with the result & price. They cooperated fully to address a couple minor punch list items at the end.

The team in Sun Dollar Energy has performed an outstanding job from start to finish on my home solar panel system. With my engineering and project management background, I asked lots of detail questions throughout the entire project. Everyone including the owner, Dan, answered me thoroughly and satisfactorily. I monitor the system daily and it is working great. Thank you!
