Great bunch of folks

The installers were very professional and knowledgeable of the job! Even the head electrical engineer would take my phone calls so we could talk about the system possibilities. I didn't have your average solar system. I could not have had a better team on my job. would do it again in a heart beat. The system that we put together works great! Better than I had expected.

Solar in my world

We started our search by going through energysage, that is where I first contacted Reid. I interviewed 5 companies which included Rising sun. I might be considered a problem customer as I did research into all products and configurations from each. The options provided me by Reid and Rising Sun were by far the best, though it was a tough competition. I decided to go with them based on the level of professionalism in the Quotation, The products and my needs were well laid out. Reid, and the team were all right on point. we have only had the system "online" with Evergy for a short time but it is going well. A final point, if you think you are going to get an electric vehicle (we did shortly after) have an outlet and installation included now, It's the best time to have it done as well.

Great experience for us

RisingSun was one of five solar installers that we spoke with. Their price was competitive but we chose them most because of our confidence in their experience and trust worthiness. Energy Sage was only able to offer us two companies to contact and we were lucky that RisingSun was one of them because their performance throughout the project was great. The whole team was friendly and trustworthy and they handled every aspect of the process, keeping us informed every step of the way. We would highly recommend RisingSun!

Choose a different Solar Partner

1-Star Review: My Experience With Astrawatt Solar I'm a big supporter of solar energy, and I still recommend going solar -- just not with Astrawatt. I signed a contract with Astrawatt in late 2024 to install solar panels and a Tesla Powerwall. Unfortunately, I ran into issues at almost every stage: communication delays, product availability problems, installation mistakes, and poor coordination with Evergy. Astrawatt provided projected energy-savings estimates as part of their proposal. After six months, I noticed no change in my energy bill. I reached out to multiple people at the company, including my sales rep, Rhody, and the owner, Alex. A technician finally came out and discovered that my system's energy-export capability had never been enabled. Once they turned it on, the system began performing as promised. However, during those first six months, my system was capped and unable to produce the savings it should have. Alex acknowledged the mistake and even calculated the energy production I missed, telling me I would be reimbursed within days. Two months later, after many follow-ups, communication from Alex, Rhody, and others at Astrawatt has stopped. Based on my experience, the company has not taken responsibility for the error or followed through on what they told me. I truly wish I had chosen a different installer, and I recommend anyone considering Astrawatt think carefully before signing a contract. Happy to discuss my experience with Astrawatt or answer any questions prospective Solar customers might have. Adampeete@yahoo.com

Deceptive Sales Practices and Poor Execution — A Costly Mistake

I deeply regret choosing AstraWatt Solar for my solar installation. What was sold to me as a $105,000 premium system—including full property backup, two Tesla Powerwall 3 batteries, and a SPAN panel. Instead of receiving the unified, monitored, and robust system promised, AstraWatt delivered a split configuration with two isolated 200-amp systems, only one of which was even monitored by the SPAN panel. This setup falls far short of the full-home/full-property solution that was discussed extensively during the sales and planning process. To make matters worse, I've discovered a troubling pattern with AstraWatt of unpaid supplier bills, resulting in threats of liens on my home. Communication was disorganized, timelines were missed, and any acknowledgment of mistakes came only after I discovered them myself. The burden of oversight fell entirely on me. If you're considering solar, do yourself a favor and stay away from AstraWatt. Their promises may sound good, but the execution—and the consequences—leave you with stress, legal risk, and an underperforming system that does not match what you paid for.

Don't trust them

Astrawatt of Mahopac, NY (which is somehow related to County Comfort) performed an install of my solar panels in 2023. I've been waiting to write this review until I got through the full process. I'm sure the Kansas City office will reply to say something like "hey, this review is of our franchise, not our main location, not our problem." Cool. Maybe have some quality control over your franchise then, and get them to meet their legally contracted obligations? ~~~ (I'm writing this in paragraphs, but in case it gets compressed I'm putting in "~~~" to indicate breaks.) ~~~ They were nice enough to deal with, but the job took far longer than it should have. The contract specified 2 months from signature to completion, with install taking 3 days, but in reality this wasn't even close to correct. Promised completion date in the contract was Nov 8, 2023, but the system wasn't installed and functional until mid-December and wasn't switched on until January 2024. ~~~ The original design had some major mistakes that I flagged to the designer – panels facing west were put in the system as facing north, which significantly reduced their estimated output. (I'm not a solar engineer. Why was I the one to find their errors?) I assumed this was just a simple mistake, but given the production guarantee I'll talk about at the end, I now wonder whether this was intentional. ~~~ The initial measurements of my roof and joists were wrong, resulting in delivery of the materials on schedule but inability to install them. I lost use of my garage for 4 weeks while I waited for them to correct the designs and start the installation. ~~~ Communications throughout were terrible. I continually had to follow up to find out whether people were coming as scheduled, and had to rearrange my schedule multiple times to accommodate when they showed up without notice. There was one Saturday well after the promised completion date when a single electrician showed up to work on the circuit panel, and I needed to help him for two hours by calling out which circuits he was turning off and on. (Yes, I could have said just come back with another worker another day, but I wanted to get the damn project done.) ~~~ Installation looks good overall, but I keep finding little pieces of the install on my grass – plastic caps, the wires that hold the critter guards in place. I've started to wonder when I'll start finding larger pieces, and whether their 25 year guarantee will actually be a reality. ~~~ To their credit, Joe did agree to a price reduction given all the problems I listed above, and they installed an extra (older) panel for free to try to increase production. Joe also sent me a car charger extension cable for the time I couldn't use my garage. And their workers were pleasant and professional. ~~~ But finally, estimated production was 14% higher than what their panels actually produced last year – a difference of about 2300 kWh, which is pretty significant. The Astrawatt contract specifies a production guarantee: if production falls below 90% of the estimate in any given year, they will reimburse the value of energy below 90%. Production the first year was about 86% of estimated, so I asked for the reimbursement and calculated the amount they should reimburse at $241. They acknowledged they'd failed to meet the estimate, but then stopped responding and have not sent a check. I had to take this to the BBB and the state Attorney General. Still no resolution and today the BBB told me they've not replied to the complaint. It's been months since Keith or Joe have replied to my messages. ~~~ I am happy to have a solar panel system in place, but I am massively dissatisfied with the experience of working with County Comfort / Astrawatt. I assume I'll need to make a claim yearly to collect their contractual obligation, and I assume they'll be equally defiant every year, and I assume I'll have to continue wasting my time to collect. ~~~ So: I would STRONGLY recommend against trusting this company with your solar install.
