EMT Solar & Roofing

I love my new green roof and Solar!! The crews were so nice and accommodating! Neil was a pleasure to work with and everything came out the way he had promised and surpassed my expectations. Very honest company and great quality as well! Thank you!!

Disadvantages: Poor customer service and misleading project schedule. Inaccurate system cost information. Dishonest sales representatives. Comment: I do not recommend EMT — terrible customer service and inaccurate information about system costs. Those considering working with this group, please educate yourself on points 1 & 2 ahead of meeting with a sales rep. I truly wish I had. 1. Go to the IRS website and search up 'Residential Clean Energy Credit.' The EMT sales rep claimed there is 16.5k tax ‘rebate’ given to you by the government to help you reduce cost. This is merely a tax credit that reduces your liability to the federal government — not money forward to use toward your loan (if financing). If you owe 3k in taxes, 3k gets wiped out. Great, but not what EMT is peddling. 2. For those in NJ, there is a program that credits you 90/month to further ‘reduce’ your monthly payment. Unfortunately, there is a limited number of slots and not everyone is accepted once their monthly payment obligation starts. I have yet to receive any credits to aid in my monthly dues to Sunnova (the loan creditor) 3. The cost of my solar panel install was 50K, this included roof install, tree removal, and solar panels. My monthly payment was supposed to be 168/month. It is currently 218/month, and will go up to 318/month in 16 months unless I come up with 16.5 grand. 4. My energy costs have not gone down. I am still paying roughly 150 in electrical charges.

Our roof and panels were installed in July 2023. As of mid-January 2024, nothing is turned on and the required inspections cannot happen because EMT does not answer or return phone calls. Perhaps a trip to an attorney will be our only recourse.

From the beginning we started inquiring about solar, we got referred to EMT and was given Stacy Evans' name and number, which she has been a Godsend. She explained how everything works from beginning to end from checking for the roof, to the installation to going live. Everything went very smoothly. we will definitely recommend EMT and Stacy to family and friends. we look forward to all the savings on our electric bill. Another thing i do like is how the company keeps you informed, step by step. Kudos to EMT and Stacy!!!!

Jim from EMT Solar came to my house for an inital consult. He was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and honest. No high sales pressure. He provided me with all the information I needed. He was very patient explaining the system and the process to me. He had all the important data and figures available for all kinds of different configurations. Unfortunately, going solar at this point with my house and the surrounding trees, is not a good decision. If my circumstances will ever change, and I hope they will, I will definitely contact EMT Solar again. I can highly recommend EMT Solar.

Ultimately, I ended up with a local installer who lived within minutes of us. However, Sean from EMT Solar was extremely professional and helpful in understanding all my equipment and financing options. EMT uses high quality, tier 1 products like REC panels and Enphase inverters. Sean was very understanding when I decided to go with someone else. I recommend looking at EMT for your solar needs!
