There are almost limitless companies claiming to offer the best solar installation experience making it difficult to make an informed choice of installer on my own. I narrowed my candidate list to only those recommended by my local power company (Duke Energy) as they had much more exposure to the true performance of the various companies than I could assess based solely on advertisements and customer reviews. Of the companies I contacted, Cape Fear Solar Systems (CFSS) immediately stood out as offering a great system for a fair price. All of the on-site installation teams (solar panels, electrical, county inspector support) were very professional and my final inspection was approved by the county within an hour of the visit. A friend of mine installed his own system and said that by far the biggest challenge was going through the paperwork including the inspection and power company coordination. CFSS took care of all of this effort as part of the cost and also submitted the Duke Energy rebate application which I was lucky enough to obtain. If you live in an area serviced by CFSS, I highly recommend including them in your request of quotes.

I researched solar as an energy option with several different sources. Cape Fear Solar Systems - CFSS - provided knowledgeable, professional (and patient) staff as I learned the vocabulary and process of solar energy for my all electric home.
