The people with Emerald Energy are pleasant and respectful. I had contacted a few other companies for quotes. Most of the other companies would not come to my house and access my needs for a solar system installation. Most wanted to handle it exclusively through emails and phone calls. Emerald did come for a face-to-face meeting! John was happy to come and give his experienced assessment of our situation. Thank You John, Chris, and the crew for a speedy install project. Now my system is producing electricity and for the month of October my bill was $23.06. The system produced 100% of my electrical needs. The 23.06 was from Duke grid connection fee, Streetlight fee, storm recovery fee, and taxes (all junk fees).
I was pleased with the honesty of the Emerald Energy team to tell me which portions of my roof would give the best solar output if we were to install panels. As a result, we put panels on a little over half of the space on our roof, so our production isn't as high, but the return per panel and the financials were optimized. This worked for our budget. They did all the paperwork, installed electric vehicle recharging outlets in our garage, and also helped us get the rebate from Duke Energy. All around a great experience and we are happy to get to reduce the amount of electricity we draw from the grid while also reducing our electric bill.
We had a great experience with John Leonard and his team. They were efficient and answered all of our questions, which were many.
To whomever this concerns; Emerald Solar installed this past summer a 16KW system on my home roof. They estimated this system would cover most of my electrical usage and so far they were 100% correct. The quote and installation process was extremely professional and was not a hard sell by any means! Every installer was friendly and did their best to do a great job. I am retired and watched the entire operation. I was a industrial maintenance manger by trade and had many projects completed so I was very experienced and knowledgeable about the process and how things should be done. I was not disappointed in the least very happy with the project and the results. If I had it to do over I would pick the same crew and company to do the job.
My Homeowners Association selected two companies with which my neighbors and I could work, as part of our neighborhood-wide sustainability project. My first contact with Emerald Energy was all l needed to know this was the company with whom I wanted to work. I am grateful to my HOA Sustainability Company for finding this fine enterprise for me! Everything about this process of making my house and car fly on sunshine has been wonderful. To begin, company president John Leonard was responsive, thoughtful, courteous, and ready to answer any question. When the project began, project manager Chris Belin was as kind and efficient as he possibly could be. Every single member of the crew was terrific, and I particularly appreciate the small but important fact that the crews, as they came and went in the house, were very careful not to let my indoor-only cat scoot out the door. My house now has the tiny footprint I have long wanted to create. Emerald Energy was honest, professional, thorough, and just splendid as my partners in this solar energy journey. I could not give them all a higher recommendation!
Not just the decision to put in solar but to have EmeraldEnergy design and install my system. I have waited to write this review until my system has been running for one year. It has outperformed the design! Over the first year my system generated 16.8MWh (vs estimated 15.2MWh) and I have not paid more than a hook up fee of $16.00 per month to the power company. I did my basic research prior to reaching out for estimates and proposals. I ultimately had three very different experiences. I was most impressed by Justin with Emerald Energy with the fact that he had an engineering degree vs the others just selling a product. In fact, I ended up with a better system for a significantly lower cost. I have a ground array instead of a roof mounted system. I am fortunate to have the space for this set-up as it provided more bang for the buck. The array was able to be positioned to maximize the power generation I wanted, costing less than a roof mounted system, which is typically not the case. The design required less panels which off-set the cost of the ground mounted hardware. I credit this design proposal to the expertise of Justin from Emerald Energy! Of course, there is a bureaucratic challenge to solar with the power company, county inspections etc. but Emerald did respond an assist in resolving any issues I had. I have had no problems with the system and am completely satisfied!!!!
