While I decided not to pursue solar at this time, Emerald Energy was one of three companies out of seven bids I received on Energy Sage, that I strongly considered. Their pricing was not as competitive as other companies, but their sales person was very knowledgeable and helpful. He gave me several solar options to choose from. In short, given HOA restrictions that limit solar to the rear of my home, the trees on that side of the house, and below average electric rates from my electric cooperative, I am not an ideal candidate for solar at this time. For anyone considering solar, make sure you understand your utility pricing and your electric usage patterns. The biggest risk I saw to going solar was not generating the forecasted energy bill savings without having a battery system and a battery system made the economics not very appealing.

Emerald conducted a thorough analysis and gave us a competitive estimate. When we had an issue with the battery, they resolved it quickly and were out ASAP to get a new one installed. I'm very happy with our solar and their work.

From the initial install through our system upgrades and handling component failure, Emerald Energy has always been there doing what's right. Out of the 3 initial proposals, Emerald Energy was the only company that was willing to put together a system that met our needs when my initial request was much larger than our budget. Since the initial install, we had 2 other project adding more battery capability and then more panels. We also had some battery and solar component failures and Emerald was there when the vendor wasn't as responsive as we had hoped. They are highly skilled and certified to work with all of the latest vendor technology. The quality of their work is also very impressive. They were able to hide most of the conduit and made it blend nicely with our house. Emerald Energy is our goto company when friends, neighbors, co-workers ask about adding solar to their home.

I was pleased with the honesty of the Emerald Energy team to tell me which portions of my roof would give the best solar output if we were to install panels. As a result, we put panels on a little over half of the space on our roof, so our production isn't as high, but the return per panel and the financials were optimized. This worked for our budget. They did all the paperwork, installed electric vehicle recharging outlets in our garage, and also helped us get the rebate from Duke Energy. All around a great experience and we are happy to get to reduce the amount of electricity we draw from the grid while also reducing our electric bill.

After reading articles on residential solar power generation and the tax advantages. We wanted to learn more. Our south facing roof has almost full exposure to the sun. A solar installer representative met with us, answered our questions and gave us a quote. Looking for a second quote, we researched installers and decided to contact Emerald Energy. Justin Dunlap, gave us information on the design of a system and a very competitive quote with a 25 year warranty. They explained the advantages of the various brands of panels and equipment, and answered our questions. We accepted the quote. Our system was activated in November 2021. We are very satisfied.

Emerald Energy was very easy to work with. Justin and John were both knowledgeable and cooperative. The project changed from a single Sol-Ark 12K to a pair of them and John was more than cooperative to give me what I wanted. Two 12Ks with 28 REC Alpha panels and 4 Fortress e-Flex 5.4kWh batteries was the final project. John worked through supply chain problems to procure all needed parts, even scouring just about all sources to obtain battery lugs and the battery cabinet.
